Belated Birthday

Yet again the blogging slacker in me has prevailed. Yes my son's birthday was almost 2 months ago and I am just now getting around to posting his!  Maybe it is just slacker Abby since I have yet to finish the thank you cards as well :( Jameson's birthday went off without a hitch!  Lots of family and friends came to celebrate with us.  I decided to go with a frog theme and it turned out better than I could have imagined.  I think I may have missed my calling as a party planner.  Who knows maybe it will be in my future? First I came across the idea to make cake pops as the party favors.  I must say they were absolutely amazing and simple to make!  I do have some tips if you plan to attempt making them.   Recipe: 1 pre-made box cake 1 can of frosting 1 package Wilton's White Chocolate Chips  (if you want colored use precolored chips.  Adding food coloring to the white chocolate will make it curdle and not work well) ...

First Words

Jameson has been babbling the normal things for a while, mama, dada, baba, etc. but never said them purposefully.  I am officially calling his first word "Hi"!  Rae Jean (Grandma) told me that when they were at the doctor office the other day that every time someone walked through the door he would wave and say Hi.  I refused to think that he was really saying Hi because I wanted to hear it first ;)  So that night Jameson and I went outside and sat on the front porch, every time a neighbor walked by he would wave as hard as he could and say "Hi"!  I was thrilled. He still babbles mama and dada (mostly dada :-( )and I'm not sure if those are real yet.  It also sounds like he says kitty-cat or maybe it is his way of saying Makiko (Kiko).  He loves Makiko and she loves him much to my demise.  I can't keep her away from him.

Crawling

I really thought that Jameson would be one of those babies that skipped right over crawling and start walking.  Not only because he has always hated tummy time and loved standing but also because I pretty much skipped it.  Boy was I wrong! He started out scooting here and there to get a toy or pivoting on his belly.  Then progressed to what I will call "fish out of water" it looked like he was trying to swim but not getting far :)  Now we are full on Army Crawl and boy is he quick.  He hasn't quite figured out how to crawl on hands and knees but he can get up on them and will rock back and forth.  I feel so sorry for his little arms and knees though; he has crazy rug burn :(  I have been putting pants on to help with the knees but it is just too hot for long sleeves right now. Now I need to start baby proofing!  In addition to picking up every little fuzz, leaf and piece of paper and constantly vacuuming!  I have a lot to d...

Baby Teeth

After several months and a couple of hard weeks of drooling, crankiness and acidic diaper changes Jameson has 2 teeth!  I think he is working on the top teeth now but I can't get my finger in there to see but he has his little lizard tongue going.  He bites if I go anywhere near :)  This week I was checking out his teeth and noticed they looked rotten and of course the overprotective mom freaks out.  I called Grangie, our new nick name for Grandma Angie (hehe), since she is a dental hygienist.  Of course all my worry was for nothing, just stain from the iron in his vitamins.  After a polishing and a couple brushing's his teeth are once again pearly white. It is so hard to get pics of them but here they are!
