Jameson's First Christmas!

Well our Christmas holiday started off with a "Bang" and not in a good way!  We planned to leave our house for the 3 hour trek to my dad's at 9 am on Thursday morning so that we would be there for lunch.  That didn't happen! I woke up Thursday morning with pink eye.  I automatically knew where I got it and couldn't believe a simple hug would contaminate me!!  So no big deal right?  I will just run to CVS and see the nurse practitioner to get my prescription.  I go to the new CVS by my house and apparently they don't have a clinic, so on to the next closest CVS and guess what...they don't have one either.  Frustrated to tears at this point I drive to a CVS that I know has a clinic, get Jameson out of his car seat, walk in and there is a big sign hanging there "Nurse running late, ask Pharmacy for details".  I ask the Pharmacist "She didn't show up today so we are trying to find a replacement". At this point, I have been driving a...

Happy Holidays!

Once again I am a slacker!  Life is just so hectic with an almost 1 year old that it is hard to find time to blog.  Maybe one of my New Year's resolutions will be to make time to blog?  Anyways, for now here is a quick update on us. Jameson is all over the place!  Crawling, standing, walking along the sofa, up the stairs, down the stairs (even falling down the stairs).  Yes, you heard me, falling :(  Thankfully he wasn't hurt, he actually pushed the baby gate over and rode it all the way down the stairs.  Thankfully Ninja Mommy reflexes were fast and I caught him mid cartwheel at the bottom of the stairs!  I had a panic moment and blamed it all on Zack of course :) Thanksgiving was a bit more eventful that usual.  Zack's grandmother passed away a few days before so between visitations, funerals and lots of family in town it was crazy but honestly I really enjoyed having all of the family together.  It made for a v...

Jameson's Blog

Mommy has been busy tonight so I decided I would help her out and tell you about my big day!  It started off when I woke mommy up at 3am cause I was a hungry little man.  I then woke up again at 7:30 like usual and daddy took me to grandma's house for the day.  I am such a big boy now that I have decided I don't have to take a nap today.  So I didn't! (P.S. Mommy didn't get pictures of all events so I found some on the internet) Then when mommy came to pick me up I decided to show her my new trick.  I stood all by myself and clapped to show them how proud I was of myself :)  Mommy, Grandma and Grandpa clapped too! Mommy took me home and we played and I helped her upload a new picture of mommy and me to show off to her friends. When mommy was done she picked me up and I had a big surprise for her all up my back and on mommy's hands.   I decided to have a little fun with mommy while she changed my diaper so I wiggled out ...

Busy, Busy, Busy

Time sure has flown by in the last couple months! Jameson is all over the place.  He is finally crawling on all fours and can pull himself up like a champ.  He has started shifting his weight from object to object but no steps yet.  I am not looking forward to the actual walking and then the running :)  He is already so fast, I don't know how I will keep up and he gets into everything! Pulling himself up! My birthday was last week and I really miss birthdays from when I was a kid.  "Grown-Up" birthdays are just no fun!  I worked all day, stayed late to work on the dress for the IIDA fashion show and then went to bed.  I did get a new watch, since I lost mine on vacation though.  It especially sucked since we didn't win anything for the show, so much time and effort and so little reward. For those who don't know about the the show, basically each Firm is assigned an interiors product and you create an outfit from the material.  For exa...

Beauty by Baird

I have been having so much fun doing makeup for Teisha that I have decided to officially start my new business as a freelance makeup artist.  With the help of friends I have decided on the name Beauty by Baird, kinda catchy!  I am in the process of making a website, business cards and updating my portfolio.  I will reveal them when I am done!  Here are a few of my latest photoshoots with Teisha :)

Vacation Time

We just returned from vacation and WOW...I haven't been that relaxed in years!  We have decided that we are going to make a better habit of actually taking time off and enjoying life a little.  The last vacation we had was our honeymoon 4 years ago!!  That was way too long :( We went to Estes Park, CO for a week.  I was really nervous about Jameson being stuck in a car seat for 10 hours straight but he did absolutely amazing!  He only got fussy twice and that was pretty much because he was tired.  We are truly blessed with such a perfect child, it makes me scared to have another :)  While there we visited Kristen (Sister-in-Law), went shopping, swimming, hiking, walking and just spent a lot of time relaxing.   Enjoy the pictures! We Saw Big Elk We went Hiking Mommy's turn to carry Jameson He talked the whole hike! Daddy and Jameson Played We made it...so Beautiful!! Along the Hike P...

8 Months Old

How time flies!  Jameson turned 8 months old on September 4th. It is crazy how much he has changed, crawling, talking, clapping, giggling, joking, teeth, table food. Oh did I mention...Sleeping ALL NIGHT!! There are things about my pre-baby life that I miss.  Of course there is always going to be the something, being able to run a quick errand, sleeping in, going out with the girls, but sacrifices have to be made.  Life is crazy and busy and I have very little time to myself but every time I get stressed about it I just wait for that beautiful smile from my little boy and it is all so worth it. 8 months in review... First Words

Jameson has been babbling the normal things for a while, mama, dada, baba, etc. but never said them purposefully.  I am officially calling his first word "Hi"!  Rae Jean (Grandma) told me that when they were at the doctor office the other day that every time someone walked through the door he would wave and say Hi.  I refused to think that he was really saying Hi because I wanted to hear it first ;)  So that night Jameson and I went outside and sat on the front porch, every time a neighbor walked by he would wave as hard as he could and say "Hi"!  I was thrilled. He still babbles mama and dada (mostly dada :-( )and I'm not sure if those are real yet.  It also sounds like he says kitty-cat or maybe it is his way of saying Makiko (Kiko).  He loves Makiko and she loves him much to my demise.  I can't keep her away from him.

Crawling

I really thought that Jameson would be one of those babies that skipped right over crawling and start walking.  Not only because he has always hated tummy time and loved standing but also because I pretty much skipped it.  Boy was I wrong! He started out scooting here and there to get a toy or pivoting on his belly.  Then progressed to what I will call "fish out of water" it looked like he was trying to swim but not getting far :)  Now we are full on Army Crawl and boy is he quick.  He hasn't quite figured out how to crawl on hands and knees but he can get up on them and will rock back and forth.  I feel so sorry for his little arms and knees though; he has crazy rug burn :(  I have been putting pants on to help with the knees but it is just too hot for long sleeves right now. Now I need to start baby proofing!  In addition to picking up every little fuzz, leaf and piece of paper and constantly vacuuming!  I have a lot to d...

Baby Teeth

After several months and a couple of hard weeks of drooling, crankiness and acidic diaper changes Jameson has 2 teeth!  I think he is working on the top teeth now but I can't get my finger in there to see but he has his little lizard tongue going.  He bites if I go anywhere near :)  This week I was checking out his teeth and noticed they looked rotten and of course the overprotective mom freaks out.  I called Grangie, our new nick name for Grandma Angie (hehe), since she is a dental hygienist.  Of course all my worry was for nothing, just stain from the iron in his vitamins.  After a polishing and a couple brushing's his teeth are once again pearly white. It is so hard to get pics of them but here they are!

Slacker

Wow...I didn't realize that it had been a whole month since I last blogged!  Zack told me when we first started dating that I would grow to hate the month of August in his family.  He was so right!  There are 5 birthday's within a month of each other and boy does it make for a super, crazy busy month.  You add weddings 4 weddings on top of that and there is just no time left.  We are on the down hill now, one wedding to go then VACATION TIME! We are going to Colorado for a whole week :)  Zack and I haven't been on a vacation in 4 years and it will be Jameson's 1st.  I am really looking forward to the time away but not at all looking forward to the car ride.  Jameson is great in the car but 10 hours in the car is not going to be fun.  I have had a couple recommendations to get a dvd player and some Baby Einstein videos.  So I will have to try that out. So now onto the the last month of news since I was a slacker!  So ma...

Sheer Miracle Follow-Up

I wanted to follow up on my previous post about Sheer Miracle makeup. I purchased a sample kit which contains any 4 samples for $9.50 and have now been using it for a couple weeks.  For my samples I chose Mineral foundations in Light Warm and Light Cool and Finishing Powders in Glow and HD. The Mineral Foundation The foundation provides excellent sheer coverage and you can easily build the coverage.  I also used it as a concealer by just layering it on thicker in the areas needed and it worked great.  I love the radiant look that it gives my skin. Now as most of you probably know I am extremely fair skinned which is why I chose the lightest colors available.  However, I wish I had gotten a shade darker.  I feel very washed out and have to layer bronzer to make me not look like a ghost.  So I recommend when first trying this to purchase two different shade levels. Finishing Powders I absolutely love the HD finishing powder; I t...

To My Readers

I have had some really positive comments about my blog recently and I just wanted to take a moment and thank everyone that takes the time to come check it out.  I always wondered if anyone actually read anything I posted and come to find out, at least a few people are :)  That made my day!   So a big  THANK YOU to everyone!

One of those days

We all have them.  The days that for no particular reason we just aren't ourselves, nothing goes our way and you feel sorry for yourself.  Those days tend to come and go and not only is it dreadful to go through but even worse to drag others along with you. I am going on a week of "those" days and I just can't seem to pull myself out of this rut.  I have no reason to feel this way.  All is well on the home front and I am starting to see little Jameson's cute personality come out but yet something just keeps nagging at my emotions.  Zack keeps asking me what is wrong and I am afraid he thinks I am hiding something but honest and truly when I say " I don't know"  I really don't know.  I think I am dragging him down with me. Maybe it is hormonal?  My hormones have played a role in many mood swings over the last year.  What ever it is I just want it to end!  I am tired of feeling sorry for myself for no reason at all ...

Sheer Miracle

I stumbled across a link awhile back on one of my friend's blogs to Sheer Miracle .  I have been wanting to try mineral makeup ever since BareMinerals makeup came out but it was always so expensive.  So when I came across this website I was excited.  Sheer Miracle sells premium mineral makeup at prices I can afford.  It is also Bismuth Oxychloride free which causes itchy skin and breakouts (which may of the other brands include), so big bonus to me since I have sensitive skin. A little background information on me.  I was a Clinque consultant for many years and at the time loved their products.  Towards the end of working for Clinique I felt that they no longer cared about the client only making money and adding more and more products for them to slather on their faces which none of them needed.  I have since moved on trying different makeup lines still not finding the right one. I am embarking on a new possible career in makeup starting this weeke...

First Tooth!

After a week of fussing, clinging, screaming and not sleeping we have a tooth!!  It is his lower left front tooth and you can barley see it but can definitely feel it.  Hopefully we can all get some sleep now.  I am tired of getting up 3-5 times a night.  I will post pictures once it is in further and will actually show up in a pic.

Jameson's 6 Month Photos!

Once again my friends Sarah and Kyle Smidt at Clashing Collaborations out did themselves.  Jameson was utterly uncooperative during the photo shoot so I figured we would only get a handful of decent photos.  Was I wrong!  There are over 100 amazing photos :)  You can check all of them out here  and I included a few of my favorites below.  Enjoy!!
